Sicodelico Advances in NWA Title Tournament

The San Antonio Independent Wrestling Scene received teh following email today:

Helllo,
I am a big fan of your site. I check it weekly for the latest news on the San Antonio wrestling scene. Although I live in San Diego, CA now, I grew up in Austin and still have many friends in Texas. Sico Jr., Black Gordman Jr., Lemus II, and El Latino are among my closest friends. I am writing because I would like you to post on your site that Sico Jr. won his first round match in the NWA title tournament on Saturday June 30. He defeated Roughneck Ryan after about 22 minutes of intense action.
This Saturday July 7 in Houston, TX Sico Jr. will get a shot at the NWA Heritage title held by Adam Pearce. I believe the event will be held at Plaza San Miguel. Also I have the following press release from NWA Pro promoter David Marquez that I would like to share with you:

THREE TEAMS ATTACK MCALLEN, TX TO PARTICIPATE FOR THE VACANT NWA™ WORLD TAG TEAM TITLES.

Charlotte, NC (June 29, 2007) – Seeing that “Reclaiming the Glory: NWA™ World Heavyweight Championship Tournament” is in full swing the Board of Directors of the National Wrestling Alliance thought it would be appropriate to debate the candidates and method of declaring new NWA™ World Tag Team Champions and during a two day closed door meeting Executive Director Robert K. Trobich and his cabinet decided that the vacant titles would be awarded on July 8, 2007 in McAllen, TX and the Convention Center. “The reason we waited this long to do anything with the tag straps was because the singles tournament was a hectic situation and we didn’t want to not give them the right amount of attention” said Trobich “we had a lot on our plate and I am please with the way we are going to handle this Championship and its participants” Trobich continued.

During the two-day meeting the Directors interviewed potential teams on the telephone and turned down the idea of a second tournament. “To do another tournament would take too long to execute and we need Champions now” said Director, Ed Chuman.

The teams of Lucha standout’s Incognito & Sicodelico, Jr., multi-time tag team Champions Billy Kidman & Sean “X-PacWaltman and the controversial Joey Ryan & Karl “Machine Gun” Anderson will compete in what will be a three way tag team epic.

“Fan’s in the Southern Texas area should not miss this event, not only will they be treated to an outstanding card, but they will be a part of the new area of the NWA™,” states Director, Rick O’Brien. Tickets are on sale at the McAllen Civic Center and area outlets.

Please post this info on your site. Hopefully some fans from the area can make the drive down to Houston and McAllen this weekend to support Sico Jr. Thanks Barry.

The Scene would like to Congratulate Sicodelico Jr. and wish him well in the upcoming matches.
