Originally scheduled to be a rematch with the Hitmen and the GCC, Skitzo was forced to pull out due to a family emergency. Surprisingly, the Treats showed with intentions to interfere, but instead were placed in the line of fire. With bad blood still being felt from the last Treat / GCC encounter, this match went back and forth from the beginning. Scary moment of the night came when Rudy Russo, had Spector in the corner, and Don Juan came from behind and caught Russo from behind with a solid shot to the back of the head with a chair. Russo went down, as the bell was called, and an ambulance was rushed to the venue, as Russo was knocked out cold.
Ben Galvan accompanied his partner to a local hospital, where Russo is being evaluated at the time of this report.

Ace Cage (win) vs. Mombassa

Notes: At the beginning of the show, PWI Announcer J.D. Kingston revealed that PWI US Champion Madness had suffered a serious injury at the last show which has resulted in him vacating the title. Tonight's show featured 3 qualifying matches in which Mr. Right, The Great Ryu and Joey Spector advanced to take part in a 3 man match in two weeks at the next PWI show. The winner on March 8th will become the new PWI US Champion.

Also on this show, the problems in the "Sinful House of Payne" continue to become more evident as the money man, William Payne was clearly upset at Manager Sin-Sational Sal's inability to get his man Gabe the Babe the victory in his title match against Champion Mojo.

In the main event, PWI showed that they can go hard-core as Mombassa and Ace Cage battled in a bloody Dog Collar match in which Mombassa freely used a fork to open up his opponent. Both men were a bloody mess by the time Cage was able to get the 3 count victory.

PWI returns in 2 weeks on March 8th. Check out www.pwient.com for details.

(210) 214-1749

The Scene comments:

While it is too early to tell what this all means and how ugly this divorce will be, it should be noted that T-n-T wrestling ran 3 successful shows at La Rancherita with a variety of talent. Hopefully, they will have continued success at their new location.

IPWA is an established promotion which has run out of the Eagle Pass Boy’s and Girl’s Club. According to their myspace profile, Bobby Garcia will be in charge of the San Antonio shows, from which we can surmise that IPWA will continue to run shows in Eagle Pass as well as in SA. Hopefully, their entry into the San Antonio market will mean an influx of new faces.

Frank Torres is the proprietor of La Rancherita which has proven to be an enjoyable venue for wrestling in an area of town which has always supported wrestling. Hopefully, they will continue to succeed and benefit from the lessons learned during their association with T-n-T.

CWF Venue Change
Due to some vandalism at the original site, the venue for the Combined Wrestling Federation premier show has been changed to 5357 Glen Ridge (the former Big Lots building off Evers Road in Leon Valley.) Despite this setback, the plans are moving forward for this big show.

The card announced so far includes: Petey Williams vs. Daivari, LAX vs. Rory Fox & Mike Foxx, The Return of Masada, RCW Tag Team Champions The Texas Treats (Chris Marval & Don Juan Valenz) defending against The Natural Athletes (Quinten Allen & Mike Dell), W4CW Champion The Sergeant vs. Rocky Morocco, PWI Champion Mojo vs. The Great Ryu, OSF Champion Ryan Genisis vs. The American Patriot, plus Johnny Rage vs. El Latino, The Houligans vs. Cobra and a special partner, and Hot Shot Joey Spector vs. Gabe the Babe.

Southern Championship Wrestling
Pleasanton Honey's Family Pool Hall
Saturday February 2, 2008

Match # 1 - "Mad Dog" Ken Johnson (win) vs. "Superstar" Dick Dallas
Match # 2 - Joey Spector vs. Johnny Rage (win)
Match # 3 - Chris Marval vs. Quinten Allen (win)
Match # 4 - Don JuanValenz vs. Spiro (win)
Match # 5 - SCW Tag Team Championship Match
Challengers Rory Fox and Mike Dell vs. Champions Danny Matthews and Scott McKenzie (win and retain title)
Match # 6 - Main Event - SCW Heavyweight Title Match
Challenger Gemini vs. Champion Greg Symonds (win and retain title)

Notes: 132 fans came in to Pleasanton to check out SCW and they went home happy, I think they will be back plus a whole lot more. Every one of those fans were blown away by the guys in the ring, the show production, I mean just everything. Not one person left that building unhappy. Pleasanton has now become SCW Country. These fans are excited about SCW and Professional Wrestling (That is because of the Guys who were on that card and gave it everything they had.) We thank them so much for that.

My personal favorite part of the night had to do with a gentleman by the name of Mr. Harkins. Mr. Harkins loves professional wrestling. He has the posters and he always watches it on TV. He is the true fan. Mr. Harkins has never been to a live wrestling event. Mr. Harkins is 99 years old and will turn 100 this October. We had Mr. Harkins on the front row in Pleasanton Texas. The Harkins family was there with dad as well. We gave him a official SCW shirt signed by all of the guys on the card. There were pictures taken with Mr. Harkins and the Tag Team Champs with the belts. We were honored to have him, but there is more to this story. See after the show, Mr. Harkins' daughter came up to us and expressed how thankful she was and said her dad has not smiled like that and laughed like that in a year. She had tears in her eyes and said that her Dad (Mr. Harkins) on Feb 2nd was married to Mrs. Harkins and this day would have been their 77th wedding anniversary. Mrs. Harkins passed away last year. That is what SCW is all about and being a part of what we do when it has a positive impact on a person’s life is why we started SCW.

You know by looking at this card of great wrestlers that the show rocked, I thought and I know the guys would not mind if I shared the story about Mr. Harkins instead.

Up Coming dates for SCW
March 15th - Symonds and Gemini rematch plus the debut of "Showtime" Scot Summers
March 16th - Uvalde Texas 3:00 pm bell time
March 22nd - Pleasanton Texas. Huge Announcement here in regards to a WWE "Hall of Famer" scheduled with SCW in May.
