Weekend Report Part 2

Texas Wrestling Entertainment At Splashtown

Wrestling fans and others enjoying a day at Splashtown were treated to an outstanding card of matches Saturday including two title matches as the wrestlers of TWE presented a show in the Summer Sun. Rick Porter was the referee for all the matches and should be commended for his work this afternoon. DJ Rage provided the sound system and helped to raise the level of excitement among the crowd, many of whom have never seen a live wrestling show before.

The first match paired up Windwalker and Bigg Dogg. These two wrestlers traded the advantage throughout the match. Bigg Dogg's strength and size eventually wore down the smaller Windwalker and gained the pin in this exciting match.

The second match saw Jacob Ladder, accompanied by Rachel, face Cowboy James Claxton. Despite the crowd support, the big Cowboy could not overcome the rulebreaking tactics of Ladder, especially with Rachel distracting the referee. Ladder scored the pin and the two rulebreakers escaped the angry fans. Cowboy seemed determined to meet up with Ladder again, soon.

In the next match, Darin Childs came to the ring accompanied by Rachel. His opponent Rudy Boy Gonzalez came to the ring accompanied by Splashtown Lifeguard # 1. This was a short match as Rudy and Darin faced off only briefly before Darin's partner Jacob Ladder rushed to the ring to assist Darin in pounding on Rudy. When Hector Navarro, Skitzo and Brett Thunder arrived to save Rudy, the trio of Ladder, Childs and Rachel retreated, but not before Rudy announced a six-man tag challenge at the next TWE Gym Warz show on August 20th. Ladder and Childs were instructed to find a partner.

The fourth match was for the Texas Tag Team Championship. The challengers were the team of Rexx Reed (who had impressed TWE fans at When World's Collide) and Seth Shai (who is one of the top indy wrestlers working in Texas.) The champions Skitzo and Hector Navarro have been forced to mature quickly since winning the belts not so long ago. Reed and Shai provided yet another challenge to the young champions as these two big men showed moves often reserved for cruiserweights. But the advantage went to the champions who have been working together for months while the challengers who were tagging together for possibly the first time. When the referee was distracted, the champions were able to make a switch and grab a pin, keeping the belts. Reed and Shai seemed convinced that, given another chance, the titles could be thiers.

The main event was an incredible match for the TWE TV title held by the International Super Model Milano Collection AT who faced the challenge of a determined Brett Thunder. The crowd turned on Milano early backing Thunder in this match. Both wrestlers displayed their incredible skills to the crowd with some of the most athletic maneuvers and hard hitting blows of the day. The advantage went both ways and despite favoring Thunder, the crowd showed their appreciation of Milano's skills as well. At the height of the match, Rachel returned to ringside distracting the referee and allowing Darin Childs and Jacob Ladder to run in and demolish Milano Collection AT. They then dragged the downed Brett Thunder, who had been stunned earlier, over for the cover. When Rick Porter turned his attention back to the ring he could do nothing but count the 1-2-3. Brett Thunder is the New TWE TV Champion! But before he could even think of celebrating, Jacob Ladder admonished him with this warning: "You owe us!"

Congratulations to Brett, but is he prepared for what Ladder and Childs have in store for him? As for Milano, this set back is only a minor one for one of the fastest rising stars in wrestling today. San Antonio fans should follow this young man's career as he continues to move up in the world of professional wrestling.
