Texas Wrestling Association - Friday Night

On Friday July 28, the Texas Wolverine All-Star Gym at 2000 S. Presa play host to the newest wrestling show in San Antonio. Texas Wrestling Association presented a very successful debut show before a crowd of over 125 who enjoyed 4 classic Lucha Libre Style matches. All matches featured 2 out of 3 falls and the ring announcing was entirely in Spanish. The next show (Friday August 11) is to run in English with more American Style wrestling. The plan is to alternate the two styles every other Friday. The referees for the evening were Mano Negra and Juan Diego.

In match # 1 rudo Muñeco Nexxus faced Agua Man who won two straight falls to take the match. The first fall was by countout following a dive through the ropes by Agua Man on Nexxus. Both men were stunned by this move but the technico recovered enough to get back into the ring in time to beat the 20 count. The second fall ended in a pin as both men seemed to struggle to recover from the earlierdevastationn.

Match # 2 was a tag match featuring the rudo team of El Diablo and Gato Diabolico against technicos Semental and Horoscopo. This match saw the masked rudos jump out to an early lead winning the first fall quickly as Gato pinned Horoscopo. The Technicos came back in the second fall when Semental pinned Diablo. The third fall became very contentious as chairs were used freely. In the end the technicos were unable to overcome the rudos who were aided in their efforts by the referee Juan Diego.

The third match was very exciting as the rudo team of Mini Diablo and Ave Fenix immediately attacked the technicos Gato Jr. and Brindis as they emerged from the curtain. Mini Diablo was easily the most aggressive man in the match as heviscouslyy beat upon both members of his opponents, eventually seizing the first fall with a pin on Gato Jr. The technicos came back in the second fall when the gymnastic Brindis pinned Mini Diablo. In the final fall the Rudos regained their dominance as they unmasked the technicos and easily pinned the pair as they struggled to keep their faces covered.

The final match was a six-man tag match featuring the rudo team Mr. Muerte, Comando and El Ilegal facing Battu, Lemus 2 andImperiuss. This was an exciting match that followed the traditional Lucha Libre patterns. Bothrefereess were in the ring with Juan Diego clearly favoring the Rudos while Mano Negra tried to maintain a more even match. All six men showed some of their best moves in the match and the refs allowed a great deal of leeway in allowing the action to take place. The first fall was keyed when Lemus 2 pinned Ilegal. Ilegal managed to gain some revenge in the second fall when he scored a pin over Battu. The final fall was a free for all and ended only when the rudos were disqualified as Comando unmasked Imperius.
