New RCW International Champ crowned in Japan

New RCW International Champ crowned in Japan!
Shimoda defeated Kosaki to win the RCW International Championship
Daisaku Shimoda defeated Kosaki on March 19, 2008 in Tokyo with a backdrop to win the River City Wrestling International Championship.
Since then, Shimoda has had a successful title defense on May 5, 2008 in Tokyo over Kamui.
Previous champion, Kosaki, had a successful defense on Nov. 18, 2007 at Tokyo Shinkiba Arena. Kosakai defeated Seiji Takeda with a Dragon Suplex hold. Kosaski then defeated Takeda again in a rematch on January 15, 2008.
Kosaki defeated Sicodelico Jr. on October 20, 2007 in San Antonio to win the title.
River City Wrestling would like to thank Mr. Yebisu for his assistance with this information.

SCW Show Results & Notes

Southern Championship Wrestling
Pearsall A&D Ballroom
Saturday April 26, 2008

(Results & Notes provided by SCW co-owner Don Holding. Thank you Haz)

Match # 1 - Joey the Cos with Kevin Douglas vs Dick Dallas (win)
with a submission from a full Nelson. After the match Joey the Cos blamed the loss on Kevin Douglas and and threw a cheap shot on Douglas and left the ring.

Match # 2 - Bull vs Doink the Clown (win)
The fans really enjoyed the show Doink put on and he was in top form, We do believe Mike Knoxville got the brunt of it all with several sneak attack Gooses.

Match # 3 - "Mad Dog" Ken Johnson(win) vs "Xtreme Bull Dawg" Rexx Reed
This was Rexx Reed's debut to SCW and was not very happy since he lost this match due to outside interference from Dick Dallas.

Match # 4 - Kevin Douglas vs Darin Childs (win)
Joey the Cos was able to land a cheap shot on Douglas while Mike Knoxville's back was turned and helping Childs to gain the victory.

Match # 5 -SCW Tag Team Championship Match
Challengers Big Dogg and "Cowboy" James Claxton vs. Champions Double Trouble - Tony Vega and Chris James (win and retain title)

Match # 6 - SCW Heavyweight and Open Division Championship Match
Challenger "Showtime" Scot Summers vs. Champion Spiro (No Contest)
This match started with a hand shake which had everyone to believe that this would be a clean match. That lasted for about 45 seconds then it was a brawl. Both men had pinfall opportunities but the match was ended when Darin Childs and Joey the Cos jumped Spiro. Showtime also joined the beat down on Spiro. Dusty Wolfe entered the ring and caught Childs with a big hook but then the attention of Showtime and Joey the Cos turned on Dusty. Ken Johnson and Kevin Douglas & Bull hit the ring and after a brief melee, Dusty, Ken, Kevin Douglas & Bull secured the ring as The ACW crew controlled the mic from the floor. The GM Dusty Wolfe, when it was all said and done, made it clear that no one was going to come into his house and try to run things so...
This set it up for Uvalde
Darin Childs vs. Dusty Wolfe. It appears battle lines are being drawn between ACW & SCW.
Also in a Tag Team Match, Super Star Dick Dallas and his new friend Max Muscles will take on Mad Dog Ken Johnson and the Xtreme Bull Dawg Rexx Reed.
Also on the card:
Bull vs. Joey the Cos
Kevin Douglas vs One Man Mike Dell
Rory Fox takes on Mike DiBiase
And in a SCW Tag Team Championship Match
Skitzo and Brett Thunder take on the Champions Double Trouble
and
The SCW Heavyweight Champion and SCW Open Division Spiro defends the Open Division Belt against the Barbarian.

It is a Double Shot Weekend, Saturday in Uvalde is a early bell time. The doors open at 3 and the bell rings at 5. Then it is on to Pleasanton for a Sunday afternoon show. Doors open at 2 and the bell rings at 3. On Sunday, just add Showtime Scot Summers to the mix and it will be a weekend for the ages .

Pro Wrestling Benefit This Sat. In Manville

As everybody in central Jersey knows when pro wrestling is on their minds, the VFW Hall in Manville, NJ (600 Washington Avenue, just off Main Street & minutes from I-287) is the place to be this Saturday night April 26th, as the nation's premiere pro wrestling promotion, National Wrestling Superstars, returns to its perennial area home base for it's biggest night of the year, in a benefit for Boy & Cub Scout Troope #193, with a 7:35pm bell time.

It will be one of the more exciting occasions indeed as two former WWE superstars are scheduled to appear, the master of "The Worm" Scotty Too Hotty, and Heartthrobs tag-team member "Romeo" Roselli, who will still be making an appearance depite being injured. Roselli, who was scheduled to face Scotty one-on-one in Manville, says he is bringing a surprise for Scotty, but like the classic magician will keep the rabbit in his hat until the show.

Also on tap will be local mat standout Nate Mustang, who has the chance of lifetime this Saturday when he battles NWS Cruiserweight Champion, the "Delaware Loudmouth" J.D. Smoothie, in a return grudge match with the title on the line.

But the big talk among the wrestling industry and fans alike is the annual Chris Candido Memorial Jersey J-Cup Tournament. A tri-state area wrestling tradition that has been going on for over a dozen years, this tournament brings together a select group of the nation's best cruiserweight and middleweight wrestlers for a one-night elimination tournament to crown the best of the best. Three years ago, NWS renamed the tournament in memory of their friend Chris Candido, a Jersey native who thrilled audiences in the ring for years all around the world.

The opening round will consist of four triple-threat matches:

· Devon Moore versus Mighty Mikey Pacifica versus Minyon

· Nicky Oceans versus Sabotage versus Fantastic Maxx

· Rhett Titus versus Unbreakable Andy versus Drew Blood

· "Firebird" Jorge Santi versus Golden Lynx versus Brett Thunder

The four winners will go on to the Semifinals, and then the Final Match, to earn the coveted trophy.

This event will definitely be ranked up there with all the top wrestling spectaculars of 2008, whether on pay-per-view or otherwise, so don't miss out! Tickets are still available, at only $18 for adults and $16 for kids and seniors, and can be purchased at:

Manville: Midtown Deli, 111 South Main Street

Krauszer's, South Main Street & Route 623

Best Little Market In Town, 705 West Champlain Road

Hillsboro: Body Shop Total Fitness, 290 Route 206 South

South Bound Brook: Royal Mini Mart, 66 Main Street

You can also order tickets by calling NWS at (732) 888-1704. All major credit cards are accepted, and group rates are available for groups of ten or more. Remaining seats, if any, will go on sale at the door one hour before bell time.

(Results and the following notes courtesy of SCW Co-Owner Haz - Thanks Don & Sandy)

Notes from the Double Shot Weekend: We would like the thank the Honky Tonk Man for coming in and spending the weekend with SCW. To see fans stand up and and get loud, I mean frenzy loud when he makes his entrance, And then to hear all of them both young and old singing that famous song of his with him was something I will never forget. We will be announcing his return in the next couple of months and I promise you, it is something you do not want to miss.

We would also like to thank and welcome John Saxon into SCW. On Saturday night in Castroville he and Showtime Summers had what was described as a war and then Sunday the battle continued on with Spiro. The Spiro/Saxon match was a classic. So many fans after the show came up to me and said they have never seen a better match anywhere than what they witnessed between these two guys and I just might have to agree. It seems like we just might have a rematch between these two on May 24th back in Carrizo Springs. If you have a chance to see John Saxon anywhere, you need to see this man work. We would like to congratulate Spiro on becoming our 3rd ever Heavy Weight Champion. When Spiro won the match, the 250 plus surrounded the ring and was just pounded it cheering. I mean frenzy loud. Spiro showed why he is the International Superstar.

With their successful matches this weekend, look for Kevin Douglas and Superstar Dick Dallas to move up in the SCW rankings. They could be making the cases to have their shot at SCW hardware soon.

Double Trouble continued to find a way to keep their Tag Team Belts against Brett Thunder and Skitzo. This has been a great series between these two teams. There will be more.

Match # 4 - Open Division Title Match

Match # 5 - Tag Title Match
Double Trouble - Tony Vega & Chris James (win & new champions) vs. Skitzo & Brett Thunder
Match # 6 - Main Event - Non-Title Match
Darin Childs with Rachel Summerlyn vs. Gregory Symonds (win)

Notes: In the first match, Dick Dallas came to the ring, pulling Ken Johnson from the ring. As the two battled to the locker room, the ref counted out Johnson, giving Muscles the victory.

The SCW Open Division belt debuted at this show. The belt can be contested anywhere, against any wrestler in any promotion. By winning this match, Spiro becomes the first SCW Open Division Champion.

Prior to the show, The Big Time Playaz vacated the the SCW Tag Team Championship. SCW CEO Dusty Wolfe was prepared to award the title to the team of Double Trouble, but Skitzo and Brett Thunder arrived to challenge for the belts. Double Trouble managed to win the match and the titles.

Anarchy Championship Wrestling's Darin Childs managed to insert himself into the main event of the show, replacing ACW champion Showtime Summers. Although the SCW Title held by Gregory Symonds was not on the line, something potentially more significant was on the line. At the beginning of the show, Dusty Wolfe challenged Darin Childs to put the contracts of Summers and Symonds up. If Childs won, ACW would gain Symonds' contract. If Symonds won, SCW would win Summers' contract. Despite using a foreign object, Childs was unable to defeat the SCW champion. In fact, Symonds was able to gain control of the object and use it to defeat Childs.

Lemus II & ACH vs. Lunar Eclipse & Renegade (win)
Match #3 - Non-Title Match
C.J. Xavier vs. Cobra (win)
Match # 4 - Main Event - Hair vs. Hair 6-man Tag Team Match
Piloto Suicida, Brindiz de Aire & Orgasmation (win) vs. Mr. Right, Gabe the Babe & Hugo Strongman with Sin-Sational Sal

Notes: In the second match, TWA Lucha Libre Champion Lemus II expressed resentment at being paired with ACH, while Renegade had his problems with being paired with Lunar Eclipse. Eventually Renegade attacked both ACH and Lunar Eclipse with the approval of Lemus II. Lemus then lay down and allowed Renegade to pin him to end the match.

If C.J. Xavier had been able to beat TWA Heavyweight Champion Cobra, C.J. felt he would earn either a title shot, or at least a number one contenders match. As C.J. seemed poised to beat Cobra, Mr. Right interfered, leading to a Cobra victory. Mr. Right explained that no one was going to beat Cobra except him.

In the main event, TWA owner Luis was putting his own hair on the line against the team of the Sinful Society; Mr. Right, Gabe the Babe & Hugo Strongman, managed by Sin-Sational Sal. To represent TWA, Luis assembled a team of luchadores; Piloto Suicida, Brindiz de Aire & Orgasmation. Sneaking into the ring, the Sinful Society grabbed a quick pin, but were disappointed to find out the match would be lucha rules with the best of 3 falls. When the luchadores won the second & third falls, Mr. Right, Gabe and Sal high-tailed it out of the building, leaving Hugo to suffer the head shaving alone.

TWA now runs shows every Friday (except for the last Friday of months with 5 Fridays.) Additionally, TWA regularly runs Super Saturday Lucha Shows each month. Next month on April 5th, TWA is bringing back the Minis. Scheduled to appear are Mascarita Sagrada, La Parquita, Brasito de Plata and Pentagoncito. Match # 4 - "Showtime" Scot Summers vs. Spiro (win - DQ)
Match # 5 - SCW Tag Team Title Match - Texas Tornado Rules
Sexy Fox-a-Dellics - Rory Fox & Mike Dell vs. The Big Time Playaz - Danny Mathews & Scott McKenzie (win & new champions)
Match # 6 - SCW Heavyweight Title Match
Challenger Gemini vs. Champion "Solid Gold" Gregory Symonds (win & retain title)

Notes: Dusty Wolfe was awarded his match by disqualification when Big Daddy Dick Dallas rushed the ring attacking Wolfe.

Showtime Summers was disqualified by referee Alex Marrozos when Summers wouldn't break his choke hold on Spiro who had managed to reach the ropes.

In the tag title match, referees Alex Marrozos and Mike Knoxville continued their dispute stemming from the split decision in the tag title match the night before in Castroville which had led to the title being held up. Marrozos, the in-ring official, was constantly distracted by Knoxville on the outside of the ring. When Knoxville attempted to count a pin, the referees both lost track of the action while arguing with one another. Eventually Marrozos punched Knoxville, leaving him unconscious. When Marrozos returned his attention to the action, the Big Time Playaz had seized the advantage and were able to gain the pinfall on the Fox-a-Dellics.

Prior to the Main Event, Showtime Summers interrupted the introductions and suffered a kick to the face from Gemini. Summers left the ringside area and the championship match commenced. At the height of the match, however, Summers returned and kicked Gemini in the face while the ref was distracted, leading to the pinfall victory by Solid Gold Gregory Symonds. After the match all three men had their say with Summers and Gemini eventually chasing Symonds to the back, dragging him to the ring and administering a beat down. The title situation between these three men remains under contention.

On March 22, SCW will be in Pleasanton where they will debut the SCW "Open Division" Championship with a match between SCW's Quinten Allen and XCW's Bull.

Match # 6 - Main Event - Heavyweight Title Match
Challenger Gemini vs. Champion Gregory Symonds (win)

Notes: In the second match, Dick Dallas locked the full-nelson on Ken Johnson but would not release the hold after the ref called for the bell, leading the to reversal.

In his SCW debut against Quinten Allen, Showtime Summers was distracted by Gregory Symonds leading to a count-out victory by Allen. Neither Allen nor Summers was satisfied with the finish and the two agreed to settle the matter tomorrow in Uvalde.

The SCW Tag Title Match ended in a no decision with the titles upheld when referee Alex Marrozos was knocked out and Mike Knoxville came to the ring to finish the match. At the end, Knoxville declared McKenzie & Matthews the winners champions but Marrozos declared Fox & Dell the winners. Commissioner Dusty Wolfe came to the ring and declared the titles upheld to be decided in Uvalde in another Texas Tornado match with 2 referees.

In the Main Event, Champion Greg Symonds was able to take advantage of a distraction from Showtime Summers and, using a steel chair, knock out challenger Gemini while the referee was outside the ring.

Notes: Prior to the opening match, River City Wrestling Tag Team Champions The Texas Treats called for a team to challenge them as one of their scheduled opponents was forced to make the show. Joey Spector came out and accepted the challenge and stated he was willing to work with any partner in the locker room. The wrestler who answered the call was the man originally scheduled to be Spector's opponent, Gabe "the Babe." Despite never previously working together, Gabe & Spector meshed as a team and stole the non-title victory from the Treats in what some were calling the match of the night.

Blue Angel & The Great Ryu renewed their rivalry from PWI in the second match with Ryu emerging victorious in this match.

The third match saw the 2 men who have traded the W4CW title over the last several months square off as The Sergeant managed to pick up the victory over Rocky Morocco.

The next match was for the Old School Federation heavyweight title as challenger The American Patriot was close to regaining the title from Champion Ryan Genisis until Rey Trevino entered the action, interfering and getting Genisis disqualified. Of course the title could not change hands as the result of the DQ, so Patriot will have to wait until the next OSF show for his chance.

Lion Heart & The Texas Renegade had barely started their match when Masada made his return to Texas wrestling, attacking both men and calling for an opponent. Quinten Allen, who was the odd man out from the earlier scheduled tag match answered the call. Allen gave a good showing for himself, but in a match involving steel chairs and light tubes, Masada had the advantage and eventually took the victory.

The second half of the show kicked off with a tag-team match featuring wrestlers from Tough -N- Texas Championship Pro Wrestling. The Houligans - Crazy Jimmy and Bull Harley faced the team of Cobra and his mystery partner Tito Sanchez. Sanchez proved to be a good choice for Cobra as the pair managed to pick up the victory.

TnT Wrestling was also represented in the next match as El Latino picked up a victory over Johnny Rage.

In the Semi-Main Event, LAX - Homicide and Hernandez made their return to San Antonio as they faced the team of The Real Deal Rory Fox and One Man Mike Dell who were accompanied to the ring by Miss Laura. The crowd was clearly behind LAX in this match and weren't disappointed in the results as the pair were victorious in the match.

The main event saw the return to San Antonio of former WWE star Shawn Daivari and the SA debut of TNA star Petey Williams. At the beginning of the match, the crowd was split in support of the two wrestlers. As the two wrestled evenly to start, eventually it was Daivari who was forced to resort to underhanded tactics, alienating the fans in the process. Despite the tactics, Williams was able to gain the advantage, hitting the devastating Canadian Destroyer finisher, but before he could get the 3 count, Fox & Dell returned, rushing the ring and causing the ref to throw the match out as a "no decision." When LAX returned to support their TNA compatriot, Dell and Fox found themselves at the receiving ends of a Border Toss and a Canadian Destroyer for their efforts.

On the whole, this was a successful debut for the Combined Wrestling Federation as no fewer than 7 promotions cooperated in contributing to the show. CWF returns to the Coalition Coliseum in 3 weeks on March 22.
