Match # 10 - Main Event - ACW Heavyweight Title Match
Challenger JT LaMotta vs. Champion Jerry Lynn (win & retain title)

Notes: In the first match, Austin Riley was eliminated first after being pinned by Julio Garza. Garza was next eliminated by Scott McKenzie who won the match.

In the next match Rachel Summerlyn outlasted Black Rocker who was eliminated first, Jack-O-Lantern who was next out and The Wisp. After the match, Andy Dalton attacked Rachel and pile drived her.

Kosakai from Japan's DDT promotion defeated Danny Matthews in the next match.

Two of San Antonio's wrestling legends, Dusty Wolfe and "Maddog" Ken Johnson tagged up in the next match against Double Trouble - Chris James & Tony Vega. Double Trouble won the match by double teaming their opponent while the ref was distracted.

In the next match, Andy Dalton came to the ring accompanied by Starr. Dalton's opponent in this "Battle of the Sexes" Match was Miss Diss_Lexia who fought a good fight but eventually fell victim to a piledriver at the hands of Dalton as well.

The next match was a "Respect" match. The only way to win was for one man to force his opponent to say "I quit" or "I respect you." Shawn Vexx and Darin Childs battled intensely, but neither man seemed willing to quit. Eventually Darin locked a submission hold on Vexx who still refused to quit. With his last breath before passing out, Vexx refused to say "I quit." Darin took the microphone and stated that "anyone who is willing to die for ACW, I respect." Therefore the unconscious Shawn Vexx was declared the winner.

The next match was an 8 Man Tag match with a special stipulation. The winner of the deciding fall would earn a spot in the upcoming "Lonestar Classic" tournament in December. The team of Chad Thomas, Ion McGregor, Cody Jones & Tony Morales faced the team of Berry Breeze, Problems, Steve DeMarco & "Hotsauce" Marco Riviera. It was Morales who earned the spot when he pinned ACW Young Guns Champion Berry Breeze following a "Borricua Bomb."

Prior to the next match, "One Man" Mike Dell came to the ring with both tag team championship belts. Dell stated that his partner Rory Fox had been given the night off and that furthermore, Dell was relinquishing the belts. Dell stated he was going to focus on singles wrestling in pursuit of the ACW Heavyweight title. Dell called for an opponent to face and from out of the lockerroom came former WWE Superstar Shawn Daivari. Dell's renewed focus proved to be the deciding factor as he was able to gain the pinfall over Daivari.

Next up was a tag team match featuring the Judo Blackbelts of the DDT promotion in Tokyo Japan. Tomohiko Hashimoto & Masato Shibata were accompanied to the ring by Mr. Yebisu. The Judo Blackbelts' opponents were Perfect Enemy - Jaykus Plisken & "Showtime" Summers. At the end of an extremely rough match, it was Perfect Enemy who scored the victory.

In the Main Event, ACW Heavyweight Champion Jerry Lynn defended his belt against JT LaMotta. LaMotta took the champ to the limit, but was unable to wrest the title away from Lynn, but if the fans have their way, a rematch is in the future.

ACW appears next at the 5th Annual Double Fisted Festival at Rosedale Park next Saturday. Check out www.anarchychampionshipwrestling.com for details on this and all ACW shows.

Match # 5 - Chief Battu with Lemus II vs. Chuey Martinez (win via DQ)
Match # 6 - Main Event
Blue Angel vs. The Great Ryu (no decision)

Notes: Thank you to PWI Announcer JD Kingston for sending these results.

Match 1: Johnny Heisman from Omaha Ne. And Chino Reyes from Manila Philippines. A tough contest Johnny Heisman the former high school football star came out with a pinfall victory.

The show opens with J.D. Kingston coming to the ring and then shortly afterwards being interrupted by Blue Angel. Blue Angel is clearly in a bad mood, and wants to take it out on Ryu saying that anyone who supports Mojo is on his hit list. He challenges Ryu to a match, at which time Ryu comes out and accepts the challenge setting up the nights Main Event.

Match 2: New wrestler Mr Right being accompanied to the ring by Sinsationa Sal from Sin City Tx. Versus Dragon X. This was a fast paced match both cruiserweights gave it their all but former Champion Dragon X came out on top with a pinfall victory

Match 3: US Title Match: Madness (challenger) Versus Julio Garza (champion) Madness was accompanied to the ring by both Sinsational Sal AND William Payne, now officially working together in what I've dubbed "The Sinsational House of Payne" Lots of interference from the outside, and some underhanded tactics have Madness winning by holding on to the ropes. New US Champion: Madness

Match 4: PWI Tag Team Titles, Mexican Revolution (Lemus II, Tigre Mysterio) Versus Hot Sauce Marco Rivera, and Shawn Vexxx. Pre Match William Payne accompanies the Champions Rivera and Vexxx to the ring tossing tortillas at the challengers. Rivera and Vexxx retain the Titles. Afterwards an enraged Chief Batu comes out and all three Mexican Revolution Team members beat down the champions.

Match 5: Chief Batu Versus The Chicano Assassin Chuey Martinez. Another hard fought contest ends with Lemus II coming out the ring and grabbing the foot of Chuey Martinez in front of Referee Jim Brody causing a blatant disqualification.

Match 6: Main Event Blue Angel Versus The Great Ryu. This match broke down quick. Lots of stiff kicks and punches there was no winner as halfway through the match Ryu snapped and started throwing chairs and everything else at Blue Angel disqualifying himself and walking back to the locker room. Afterwards Blue Angel gets on the Mic and Demands Mojo to face him. Mojo meanwhile is not at SPLACH due to personal issues. He then Calls out Skunk, Chuey Martinez comes out to accept the challenge.

Chuey says that if he wants Mojo so bad that he'll be Mojo and then offers Blue Angel to settle the score in a Fan Strap Match for November 3rd which is the last show before we go on hiatus for the winter. Raffle Tickets can be purchased the day of the show for 1 dollar each.

Match # 7 - RCW Cyber Title Match
Champion Sicodelico Jr. vs. Kosakai with Commissioner Yebisu (win & new champion)
Match # 8 - Main Event - RCW Heavyweight Title Match
Champion Rory Fox vs. Challenger Ikaika (win & new champion)

Notes: This show was named "The End of an Era?" in that it is the last scheduled RCW show as River City Wrestling is going on hiatus for an undetermined time. The significance of the event was not lost on those in attendance or those working the show.

Aguila Negro made his return to RCW in the first match, picking up the win over Rudy Russo.

In the second match, "Playboy" Danny Matthews was accompanied to the ring by his tag-team partner RCW Cyber Champion Scott McKenzie, but was unable to beat JT LaMotta in an impressive match.

Prior to the third match, Mr. Yebisu announced that in the absence of Ray The Voice, who was unable to attend, he was resuming his role as RCW Commissioner. Commissioner Yebisu then introduced his tag team "The Judo Blackbelts" - Tomohiko Hashimoto and Masato Shibata who were facing the reunited "Natural Athletes" - Mike Dell & Quinten Allen. Dell and Allen worked well together despite not having teamed in over a year and managed to pick up the victory.

The RCW tag-team champions "The Texas Treats"- Don Juan and Chris Marval faced off against each other in an incredible match lasting well over 20 minutes as each tried to show who was the superior member of the team. In the end, Chris Marval won the respect he needed from Don Juan with a clean pin victory. After the match, the two shook hands and embraced, ending the dispute that had caused them to separate several months ago.

Next, it was the tag team "The Hardbodies" who faced off against each other as Joey Spector and Andy Dalton attempted to settle the differences that had caused them to separate at the last show when they dropped the tag titles to the Treats. The match went the distance, ending in a time limit draw, but rather than continue the match for 5 more minutes, the two settled their differences and were joined in celebrating by former Hardbody JT LaMotta and former Manager Brandon Oliver.

In the next match, RCW Cyber Champion Scott McKenzie defended his title against former Champion Sicodelico Jr. and former WWE Superstar Shawn Daivari. Early in the match, McKenzie's partner Danny Matthews was sent away from ringside by referee Alex Marrozos. For most of the match, Daivari and Sicodelico Jr. worked together against the Champion, but eventually the match broke down to every man for himself. After McKenzie tossed Daivari outside the ring, Sicodelico Jr. hit McKenzie with a superkick and covered him for the pin, becoming the new RCW Cyber Champion.

After that match, RCW Commissioner Yebisu came to the ring and introduced Kosakai and challenged Sicodelico Jr. for his new belt. Sicodelico Jr. accepted the challenge but found himself in over his head as Yebisu interfered freely in the match on behalf of his man. At the end of his second hard match, Sicodelico Jr. was pinned following receiving a kendo stick to the head from Yebisu. After the match, Yebisu announced that even though RCW was going on hiatus, the Cyber Title would continue on as Kosakai would take the belt back to Japan and defend it there as the "RCW International Title." Sicodelico Jr. vowed to go to Japan to get the title back. When this match does take place it will be significant as this title will become the first truly International Title in San Antonio.

In the main event, new RCW Heavyweight Champion Rory Fox faced the challenge of "The Smashing Machine" Ikaika. Although these men have vastly different styles, the match was outstanding as each was stretched in different directions by the other. At the end of the match, both men's shoulders were on the mat, but Ikaika managed to get his shoulder up as the 3 count was made and once again Ikaika was declared the RCW Heavyweight Champion.

After the match, the entire lockerroom came to the ring to celebrate all that RCW has meant to them and to San Antonio Wrestling in general over the last 26 months. Credit was given to all those who contributed to the success of the promotion that was largely responsible for revitalizing local wrestling beginning in the final months of 2005. Fans were thanked for their support and assured that RCW would return at some point down the road.

The San Antonio Independent Wrestling Scene would like to take this opportunity to extend my personal thank you to RCW, Brandon Oliver and all of those who helped to entertain me and the rest of the San Antonio fans and I just want to say, "I'll see you at the next show."

Challenger Chad Thomas vs. Champion Berry Breeze (win & retain title)
Match # 2 - Six Man Tag Team Match
Pepe Rodriguez, Julio Garza & Problems vs. Danny Matthews, Mr. Destiny & Steve DeMarco (win)
Match # 3 - "Hotsauce" Marco Riviera vs. Darin Childs (win)
Match # 4 - Tag Team Match
Double Trouble: Chris James & Tony Vega vs. Miss Diss_Lexia & Rachel Summerlyn with Kissyboots (no decision)
Match # 5 - Andy Dalton vs. Kosakai (win)
Match # 6 - Shawn Vexx vs. Jimmy Jacobs (win)
Match # 7 - Tag Team Match
Judo Blackbelts: Masato Shibata & Tomohiko Hashimoto with Mr. Yebisu (win) vs. Jaykus Plisken & Gragory Symonds
Match # 8 - Rory Fox vs. Jacob Ladder (win)
Match # 9 - Main Event - Title vs. Title
ACW Hardcore Champions "Showtime" Scot Summers vs. ACW Heavyweight Champion Jerry Lynn (time limit draw. both retain respective title)

Notes: Berry Breeze retained his Young Guns title against Chad Thomas with a Shining Wizard followed up by his Cherry Popper finisher.

In the 6-man tag match, the team of Danny Matthews, Mr. Destiny and Sexy Steve DeMarco picked up the victory when Mr. Destiny pushed DeMarco out of the way and caught Julio Garza leaping from the top turnbuckle then slamming Garza while Matthews detained Julio's partners Pepe Rodriguez & Problems.

"Hotsauce" Marco Riviera came to the ring next and demanded his shot at moving up in ACW. Hotsauce claimed that racism was keeping Hispanics down and challenged any "white boy cracker" in the lockerroom. The challenge was met by Darin Childs who was successful in the match against the much larger Hotsauce.

Next came a tag team match between Double Trouble, Chris James & Tony Vega and the team of Miss Diss_Lexia and Rachel Summerlyn who came to the ring accompanied by the entire Kissyboots crew. At the height of the match, Andy Dalton rushed the ring along with Mr. Destiny, attacking Kissyboots. In the confusion, Starr pulled referee Mike Knoxville from the ring, interrupting a pin attempt that would have given a victory to Rachel and Lexi. Dalton then continued to beat down Rachel and Miss Diss_Lexia. The match ended in a "no decision." Andy Dalton and Star then revealed that Star was no longer a member of "Kissyboots." Star punctuated the message by hitting her number one fan with a birthday cake that he had brought to the show for her.

Andy Dalton then called for an opponent from the back, but was surprised when his challenge was met by Kosakai from Tokyo's Dramatic Dream Team promotion. Dalton was impressive in the match but Kosakai amazed the crowd and took the victory over Dalton.

In the next match, Shawn Vexx faced the biggest challenge of his career in Jimmy Jacobs. This wasn't the playful fun-loving Jacobs that last appeared at ACW, but the dark, sinister Jacobs that has taken Ring of Honor by storm recently. Vexx was up to the challenge, pushing Jacobs to the limit, but in a sudden burst, Jacobs slapped on a submission hold and forced Vexx to tap out.

In the next match, the tag team of the Judo Blackbelts of Dramatic Dream Team Promotion in Tokyo, Masato Shibata & Tomohiko Hashimoto were accompanied to the ring by Mr. Yebisu. Their opponents were the make-shift team of "Bio-Hazard" Jaykus Plisken and "Solid Gold" Gregory Symonds. Plisken and Symonds seemed more at odds with each other than against their opponents. The rugged team from DDT impressed the crowd and the end came while Shibata and Plisken battled outside the ring, Hashimoto hit a sudden armbar submission on Symonds. After the match, all four men showed each other respect and the four raised their hands high.

Originally, the ACW tag champions The Sexy Fox-a-Dellics were scheduled to face the Children of Pain at this show, but Mike Dell was unable to attend due to a death in his family. Dell's partner Rory Fox therefore faced off against one half of the CoP, Jacob Ladder. This was a clash of styles yet a very interesting match as Ladder was hoping for a hard-core match and Fox was looking for an in-ring match where he would be better able to stretch the rules. The match ended when Fox was thrown from the top turnbuckle by Ladder who covered his opponent for the pin.

The main event was a Title vs. Title match as ACW Hardcore Champion "Showtime" Scot Summers faced ACW Heavyweight Champion Jerry Lynn. This was a rematch of the classic in which Lynn won his belt from Summers in the final seconds of a 30 minute time limit, so it was no surprise that these two evenly matched men found themselves in another marathon match. When the 30 minute time limit expired with no winner, the crowd started to chant "Five more minutes." Both wrestlers agreed and the match was restarted, but even 35 minutes was not enough to name a winner between these two. As the final seconds were counted down the men crashed through a table leaving both men incapacitated. Both Lynn and Summers were helped to the lockerroom and Referee Rick Porter declared that since the match had ended in a time limit draw and the extended time had expired without a winner and neither men able to continue, both men retained their respective titles and this match was a draw.

ACW returns to the Venue in 2 weeks on October 21 with "Heaven Help Us." Fans are encouraged to wear costumes for Halloween. Check out www.anarchychampionshipwrestling.com for details on all ACW events.

RCW to go on hiatus after October 20 event

River City Wrestling owner Brandon Oliver issued the following announcement today:

This is a hard decision to make, but after talking with close associates as well as family, I have decided to put RCW on hiatus for a period of time undetermined effective after the October 20 event. This has actually been decided for a few months, but I will make it official following the October 20 event.

This has been a decision that I have been discussing for awhile now, and recent outside interests have cemented this decision for me.

At this time, I would like to make the following thank yous:

Thank you to the fans for supporting us and adopting us. I never believed I would see fans wear RCW shirts at WWE and Ring of Honor events – and these included events outside of San Antonio and even Texas – but it happened. At the top of my list of “pros” for continuing RCW was the fans, providing them enjoyment after the local scene was in the doldrums for so many years. You inspired us to perform and breathe new life into San Antonio wrestling. The fans went above and beyond in caring about RCW and those within RCW. You have affected so many of us, and I thank you.

The second thank you goes out to the volunteers of RCW – the nameless faces who volunteered their time and efforts to help a product grow. These individuals did what they could to make sure RCW put on the best show it could.

Thank you to my family, who stayed and helped after many others have left. Without their support, nothing is possible. Thank you to my best friend Josh. He was also my support.

And, without question, thank you to the wrestlers, referees, announcers, managers, production team and all of those that made up RCW. You guys put your heart and soul behind this product, and I appreciate it. You put RCW ahead of things and helped it grow.

I believe that if I cannot give 100% to promoting RCW, then I should stop. Last year, when my daughter was born, I took time off because quite frankly there were days when I wasn’t sure if I would see her again. However, RCW was my solace … I kept in contact with fans, wrestlers, and volunteers, and kept thinking about returning. With my daughter gaining strength, but still in the hospital, I made a decision to restart RCW.

And as I said, if I can’t give 100% to promoting RCW, then I should step out. So, I am making that decision. I have been in the wrestling business for seven years, and RCW has existed since 2002. Bare in mind that this isn’t permanent, but this break is very needed and necessary.

I want to wish the local wrestling scene a lot of luck, and hope everyone aspires to and achieves their goals.

I will be supporting PWI and a new promotion opening up called Southern Championship Wrestling, promoted by Don Holding. I have spoke with Holding many times and I believe he will do an excellent job.

Once again, thank you. Thanks for the memories. RCW has meant a lot to me, and I hope it has meant a lot to you.

Sincerely,
Brandon Oliver
