Weekend Report

RCW Show Saturday 11-18
River City Wrestling held a big show at the Bellaire Baptist Church Gym Friday Night and a capacity crowd was treated to five matches featuring RCW favorites and several new faces. The main event blew the roof off the house. The show got started when Ray the Voice introduced ring announcer Jeff Houston who called out all the participants in the night's main event. RCW President Brandon Oliver lead Team Mex to the ring. Hotstuff Hernandez, Sicodelico Jr., Don Juan and Chris Marval entered the ring like they owned it. Next Commissioner Yebisu lead out the members of his team: The new IPS, including Masada, Ikaika, One Man Mike Dell and Showtime Summers. The stipulations for the main event were then announced. The Cage Match will be handled "Wargames" style. Two men would start, every 90 seconds a new man will enter the ring, alternating teams, until all 8 men are in the ring. From that point on, wrestlers are eliminated by pinfall or submission. The winning team will have control of RCW for the next 4 shows, while the losing team will lose the services of their manager. A coin toss was held to determine which team would have the advantage of entering the ring first. Team Mex won the toss, but the wrestlers were ready to get the action started and a brawl broke out. The wrestlers in the lockerroom had to come out to break up the melee.

When the ring was finally cleared, the first official match of the night was announced. Nasty Nick Daniels came out first. Next the music of the Nerdy Boys hit and Johnny Ender & Kris Kronie came to the ring. Ender explained that while the Hardbodies have their "Hardbody in Training," or HIT and the Texas Treats have their "Treats in Training," or TITs, the Nerdy Boys now have a "Nerd in Training," or NIT. With that said, Kris Kronie introduced to the crowd his "brother" Bodhi. Bohdi and Daniels entertained the crowd with a humorous match with the smaller Bodhi struggling to get his offense in on the taller Daniels. Bodhi eventually turned things his way when he hit a head butt from the top rope and got the pin on Daniels.

The second match saw two new more new faces. Total Playa Scott McKenzie came out accompanied by Naughty Nicky. McKenzie's opponent was "The Cruiserweight Killer" B.J. Turner. The fans took a wait and see attitude to the newcomers at first, but it wasn't long before they realized that these two wrestlers were something special. The match basically blew the crowd away, and when Turner finished the match with a curb stomp variation followed by his 12 point stretch, the crowd responded with a standing ovation.

Next was a triple threat lumberjack strap match as 12 fans were selected to serve as the lumberjacks. First out was the Bling King Quinten Allen, who proclaimed he was RCW's master of the strap match, and that he was so confident that he would put his "Bling King" title on the line. Next out came the newest member of the Hardbodies, Joey Spector. The final competitor was Mr. Beautiful Rudy Russo who was welcomed back by the RCW fans. Normally fan lumberjack strap matches are one sided as the fans protect their favorites and wail on the other wrestler, but this was a triple threat match with no real fan favorites involved, so all three men took a fair amount of straps to their backs. It was Spector, however who took the worst of it. Huge welts were raised on his back by the end of the match. Quinten Allen scored pins on both men with a dual leg drop off the top rope. After the match, the fans chanted "Thank you Spector" for the beating he had taken for their enjoyment.

The next match was a tag team match. The first team came to the ring and introduced themselves as Nikko and Franco, "The Perfection Connection." Their opponents were the Nerdy Boys. The Nerds were outweighed by over 150 lbs by the muscular Nikko and Franco. Ender and Kronie were used to being underdogs however and put up a solid showing, negating the size and strength advantage but Perfection Connection was not above using some double team tactics which resulted in a violent slam on Kronie and Nikko covered him for the pin.

The main event was next. A ten-foot cage was set up around the ring and was stabilized with two platforms on opposite corners. The first two men in the ring were Don Juan and Ikaika. Every 90 seconds a new man entered in this order: Sicodelico Jr., Mike Dell, Chris Marval, Showtime Summers, Hotstuff Hernandez and finally Masada. This was a high action match which clearly earned a "Match of the Year" consideration. The eliminations came as follows. Mike Dell was eliminated first, having missed a cross body from the top platform on Hernandez who followed up with a power slam. Next Hotstuff was eliminated when Ikaika splashed him from the top of the cage. Showtime was eliminated by Sicodelico Jr. Next Chris Marval was submitted by Ikaika. Next eliminated was Ikaika, who caught Don Juan's moonsault from the top of the cage. While Don Juan recovered from that incredible move, Sicodelico Jr. was unmasked by Masada and Yebisu hit him with the green mist through the cage. Masada then made the cover, eliminating Sicodelico Jr. leaving only Masada and Don Juan. A few moments earlier, Brandon Oliver and Hotstuff had slid a table into the ring and now both Masada and Don Juan battled to gain control. The final moment came when Masada positioned Don Juan on the table, climbed to the top of the cage then hit a 450 splash through Don Juan and the table. Referee Alex Marrozos counted the pin and the match was over.

After the match, Hotstuff Hernandez challenged Ikaika to a title match at the next show. Ikaika accepted. This should be some match as with this match, Ikaika is the only man to have pinned Hotstuff in RCW. The match will headline the show on December 2nd at Mission Park 6030 Padre Drive, taking place at the "San Antonio for Jesus Explosion from Noon to 10 PM. This is a FREE EVENT and the wrestling will take place from 2-4 pm. This will be the last RCW show of the year and fans are invited to come out and see the first of 4 shows controlled by Yebisu's new IPS. Check out www.rcw-wrestling.com for all the details.

PWI Saturday Night
Pro Wrestling International Entertainment held a show at SPLACH Sports bar Saturday night. This report comes directly from their web page www.freewebs.com/pwientertainment/

Pro Wrestling International Entertainment had a great show this past Saturday November 18, at Splach Bar and Grill. We had a huge turn out of fans and friends, as well as PWI regulars.

PWI featured a series of 3 exhibition, qualifying matches. Debuting UWA talent such as Boogeyman, Sensational Sal, Chino, Dingo, and the most impressive talent being Problems.

The PWI show kicked off with our Commissioner Rick the Stick, addressing the fans, thanking them for a great year, and giving them a taste of what's to come in 2007. The mic was then turned over to our Ring Announcer J. D. Kingston, who then introduced the referee for the night, today's most athletic referee, Terry Sleeze.

The first match featured, 210 Mobs J.J. Wakefield, accompanied by 210 Mob Leader Ricky Rhodes, and WWE prospect Bio-Hazard (Jakus Pliskin). The match started off quickly, with some text book wrestling holds, but escalated into a brawl shortly into the match as Bio-Hazard became annoyed with the antics of J. J. Wakefield and Ricky Rhodes. Afer a Northern Lights Suplex and a Neck Breaker from Bio-Hazard, it was time to put Wakefield away. Bio-Hazard quickly slapped on his modified Cobra Clutch Submission, which left J. J. Wakefield with no choice but to tap out. After the match Ricky Rhodes entered the ring and signaled for the Tag Team Champions, Blaine Steel and Ozzy Manson. The 210 Mob began to gang up on Bio-Hazard. As Ozzy Manson and Ricky Rhodes set up Bio-Hazard for a Top Rope Superplex, Mojo emerged from the locker room, stopping the assault, and attacking Ricky Rhodes. Both Bio-Hazard and Mojo cleared the ring.

The second match of the evening was for the PWI Light Heavyweight Championship, currently held by Dragon X, who has had three month run with it. Dragon X defended his title against Gabe the Babe, and Lucha Star Gato Jr, in this three way match. It was fast paced, hard hitting, and full of high fly action. Dragon X was about to put away Gato Jr. until Gabe the Babe close lined him from behind, sending him outside the ring. Gabe the Babe quickly capitalized on the situation, by pinning the already knocked out Gato Jr, to become the new PWI Light Heavyweight Champion!

After the second match Rick the Stick entered the ring, to once again thank the fans for all their support, until he was interrupted, and bullied by all four members of the 210 Mob. As the team of Ozzy Manson and Blaine Steel, began to verbally assault The Houligans, regarding past events concerning their ongoing feud over the Tag Team Titles, Ricky Rhodes snatched the microphone from Ozzy's hand and directed the assault on Mojo, calling him a "Brazilian Gorilla", and insinuating that Mojo was avoiding a confrontation with him. At this time Mojo answered Ricky Rhodes call, and made his way to the ring. As Mojo climbed into the ring the 210 Mob scattered. After Mojo spat on Rhodes and called him a "little girl", he then answered Ricky Rhodes challenge for the International Title naming Ricky as his opponent for the night. The 210 Mob made their way back to the locker room, but Ricky Rhodes continued his rant. The fans clearly stated their support for Mojo by drowning out any sound that may have come out of the 210 Mob, by chanting Mojo's name. Rick the Stick thanked Mojo and stated "That's How You Take Out The Trash"!

The third match was for the PWI World Title, currently held by Madd Dogg Ken Johnson. His opponent for the night was the crude cowboy from Sweet Water Texas, Bobby Garrett. This match had all the ingredients for being a great contest, with all the knowledge and experience of both competitors. However, the match quickly spiraled into a slug fest, favoring Bobby Garrett. As Madd Dogg, began to fight back, Bobby Garrett reversed the momentum of Ken Johnson continuing the beat down the Champion. The brawl eventually spilled outside of the ring, where referee Terry Sleeze called the match, but neither opponent would let up on the other. The action continued through out the crowd as Madd Dogg threw Bobby Garrett to the fence and also on top of the merchandise table. Bobby Garrett tried to regroup by running back into the ring, but Madd Dogg Ken Johnson was right behind him, lifting Bobby up and hitting him with his signature Tomb Stone Pile Driver.

The next match was for the International Heavyweight Title, featuring the challenger, Ricky Rhodes, 210 Mob Leader, and the Champion, Mojo from Brazil. This match was previously scheduled to be the main event of the evening, however the tension between Mojo and Ricky Rhodes could not be delayed any longer. As Ricky Rhodes hit the ring, accompanied by the entire 210 Mob, fans anxiously awaited the arrival of Mojo, while heckling the members of the Mob. Mojo made his way through the crowd with his International Title, and Brazilian/US flag in hand. The match began with a series of chain wrestling, and looked like it would be a sportsman like match, until Ricky Rhodes quickly turned the tide with a drop toe hold, and disrespectful slap to the back of the head of Mojo. Mojo shook it off and tied up with Ricky once more, with Mojo giving Ricky Rhodes a hammer lock, spinning him around and returning the favor with a slap of his own, sending Ricky Rhodes outside of the ring. As Ricky Rhodes reentered the ring, Mojo became distracted by Ozzy Manson and Blaine Steel, which allowed Ricky to attack Mojo from behind, and continue his assault on the champion. Ricky delivered a series of punches, but Mojo began to fight back, sending Ricky Rhodes to the corner, and giving him a Stinger Splash. Mojo went for the pin, but Ricky kicked out before the 3 count, and gave Mojo a low blow. The match continued with Ricky Rhodes delivering a vicious clothesline to Mojo. Rhodes then wasted time talking trash to the crowd, and Mojo was able to regroup and catch Ricky Rhodes sending him to the canvas with a Choke Slam. Mojo then went to cover Ricky Rhodes for the pin. At this time the other members of the 210 Mob rushed the ring, but Mojo quickly defended himself. This gave Ricky Rhodes time to get on his feet charging Mojo with a clothes line, however Mojo was able to duck out of the way and kicked Rhodes in the gut. He followed with his signature move The Skull Buster, scoring the win.

The main event of the night was for the PWI Tag Team Titles. The 210 Mob, once again hit the ring, but this time it was Ozzy Manson and Blaine Steel without their leader. Their opponents for this event, were Sidney Australia's own The Houligans, Crazy Jimmy and Bull Harley. The match featured rule breaking antics by both teams, as well as high impact moves. The Houligans easily became the fan favorites. Both teams consistently countered each others offense through out the contest. In the end it seemed the Down Under on Blaine Steel would crown the Houligans as the new Tag Team Champions, but once again the remaining Mob members emerged from the locker room, breaking up the count, which ended the match in a disqualification, and the title remained in the hands of the Mob. The 210 Mob ganged up on The Houligans, and it seemed as though they would continue to punish them, but Mojo and Madd Dogg Ken Johnson charged out of the locker room, to once again "Take out the trash!" As the 210 Mob regrouped, they pointed out that the titles could not change hands on a DQ, and they remained the champions. At this time PWI Commisioner Rick the Stick interfered and stated that he was "tired of the 210 Mobs antics" and got his revenge by stripping them of their titles. Rick the Stick declared the titles vacant, and announced that a tournament would be held for the tag team titles after the new year.

ACW Sunday Show

American Championship Wrestling held a show Sunday afternoon at the Venue and fans were treated six matches involving the wrestlers of ACW and the TWE invaders.

The first match saw Ricky Rhodes facing Prince Fontenot. The Lone Star Kid Rhodes put up a good effort against the bodybuilder Prince, but few men can match Prince's raw power and when he hit the spear, the match was over.

The second match was the finals of the Tag Team Contenders Tournament to name the challenger to the TWE Tag Titles to be defended at Star Warz on December 2nd. The team of Skitzo and Brett Thunder faced the newly formed "Dog Pound" team of Bigg Dogg and the Xtreme Bulldawg Rexx Reed. The Dog Pound outweighed the smaller team by over 200 lbs, but the emotion and energy of Skitzo and Thunder helped overcome that disadvantage. The end came as a huge surprise when Thunder hit his own partner with a superkick, perhaps gaining some revenge for a perceived betrayal months ago when Skitzo and Hector Navarro won the tag belts in a match in which Brett Thunder had started out as Skitzo's partner. With the victory, The Dog Pound is set to face the Children of Pain for the belts in 2 weeks. TWE CEO Rudy Gonzalez came out to admonish Thunder. As punishment for this betrayal, Thunder will have to face Skitzo at Star Warz in a Fan Lumberjack Strap Match defending his TWE TV Title.

The third match was originally supposed to be a one on one match between Darin Childs and Dragon X who had demanded a match against a title holder. Since Childs holds the Tag Belts for both ACW and TWE with Jacob Ladder, Childs qualified. Before the match could progress too deeply, Enigma entered the ring area and announced he was exercising his option to choose his opponent by making this a three way match. There was a lot of action in this match and at one point it appeared that Enigma had dislocated his shoulder, but he popped it back in place and got back in the ring. The end came as Darin Childs was close to submitting Dragon X with a Dragon Sleeper and Enigma hit the shining wizard on Childs. Enigma covered the unconscious Dragon X and got the pin. After the match, while Enigma and Childs faced off, deciding whether to shake hands, the Dog Pound came out and attacked Childs and Ladder. In response the Children of Pain announced that the match at Star Warz was going to be a Child's Play Death Match.

In the next match, Johnny Rage and Texas Renegade faced off in a Loser Leaves ACW match. These two former partners have been feuding for months with Rage appearing to be dodging the Renegade. In this match there was destined to be a winner and an end to this feud. The fans were treated to a hard hitting match with some of the most violent blows of the night. It was Renegade who won the brawl, costing Rage his job.

In the next match, Showtime Summers and Bio-Hazard met up. Last month, the two took part in a match in which the end came with both men's shoulders on the mat. This mat was set up with the stipulation that there must be a clear winner. In the first few minutes, the two wrestlers had two double pins and a double count out. Clearly these men are evenly matched and the fans appreciated the action. The end came out of nowhere when Bio-Hazard hit Summers with a vicious kick. ACW fans expressed their appreciation for both wrestlers with a "more of that" chant.

The main event was a Mystery Partner Tag Team Match. Representing TWE was Rudy Boy Gonzalez and his mystery partner Dusty Wolfe. Representing ACW was One Man Mike Dell and his mystery partner Jacob Ladder. The veteran team of RBG and Dusty started slow, but their experience eventually took over and they began to control the match against the make-shift team of Dell and Ladder. As the action spilled out of the ring, Ladder and Wolfe brawled in the crowd being chased down by referee Rick Porter. Dell and RBG were in the ring as Showtime Summers ran to the ring. Fans were shocked however when Summers turned on Dell instead of helping the ACW team. Gonzalez grabbed the pin and the victory for TWE. In his anger, Dell began yelling at Summers and Gonzalez. Gonzalez said if Dell had a problem he could come defend his ACW Heavyweight Title at Star Warz. Dell agreed, but it was revealed that the special referee would be ACW's Prince Fontenot.

As a result of this night, 3 matches have been announced for TWE's Star Warz on December 3rd. The show will be at the Harlendale Recreation Center at 7227 Briar Place. American Championship Wrestling has announced that their next show on December 17th at the Venue will be the 1st Annual Lone Star Classic. A 16 man tournament including Biohazard, Joey Corman, Darin Childs, Massive, "The Enigma" Albert Ybarra, TWE's Skitzo, Renegade, "From PWE in Atlanta" Kid Ego Jr., "the Obsession" Kaleb Konnley, Bobby Hill, "Too Hot" Kyle Matthews. Friday Night Lucha San Antonio

San Antonio fans of Lucha Libre were treated to not one but two shows Friday night as both MAW and TWA presented shows. Several luchadores actually made both shows.

MAW at Sociedad Cruz Blanca

Mexican American Wrestling returned to Sociedad Cruz Blanca on W. Poplar Friday night. Six matches with some of the best Luchadores in Texas entertained the large crowd of fans. Mano Negro and Juan Diego handled the referee duties.

The first match was a strong event between the veteran Horoscopo and Muneco Nexxus. The fans enjoyed taunting Horoscopo with chants of "Nacho" or "Vincente." Despite the chants, Horoscopo put up a valiant fight only to lose as the result of a low blow from Muneco Nexxus.

In the next match, thirteen luchadores came to the ring for a battle royal style Todos match. MAW champion Virus was first eliminated as he took himself out of the contest, perhaps in preparation for his title defense later. Next eliminated were, in order, Vikingo, Muneco Nexxus, Dragon X, Gato Diabolico, Ave Fenix, El Latino, Atrivido, Diablo, Zombi and Lemus 2. This left "Mr. Beautiful" Rudy Russo and Gabe "the Babe." These two flamboyant wrestlers spent several minutes feeling each other out as fans decided which of the two rudos to support. When the action kicked up, Gabe was able to take advantage of a mistake by Russo and toss the beautiful one over the top rope for the victory. A tearful Gabe rejoiced and addressed the crowd as he accepted the trophy.

Gabe didn't have long to celebrate as he was scheduled to face Dragon X in the next match. These two battled evenly matched for several minutes before Gabe was able to hit his finisher for the win. Immediately after the match, Lemus 2 and Rudy Russo rushed the ring and threw both Dragon X and Gabe from the ring. Lemus addressed the lockerroom, calling out his brother el Latino.

El Latino came to the ring with his partner for the match El Vikingo. Aside from the rivalry with his brother, Latino had to face the added distraction of Rudy Russo who had teamed with Latino as part of the Latin Alliance prior to turning on him last spring. Since then Russo and Latino have feuded throughout Texas, giving fans some of the best matches of the year. Latino's partner Vikingo is a long time veteran of the Texas Lucha scene and certainly knew his way around the ring. This match was outstanding in many respects and all four men showed how seriously they took this rivalry. In the end, it was the technicos who picked up the victory as Vikingo submitted Lemus and Latino pinned Russo.

The next match was for the MAW Heavyweight Title. This match was set up two weeks ago when challenger Ave Fenix managed to gain 2 submissions over the champion Virus in a best of three falls tag match. Virus seemed motivated to avoid the embarrassment of being bested by the smaller Ave Fenix again. In the first fall, Virus dominated, gaining a submission over Fenix. In the second fall Ave Fenix reversed the momentum and, with the crowd support, scored a submission of his own, evening the match. The third and final fall went back and forth and ended in stunning manner. While Referee Juan Diego seemed distracted, Virus pushed Fenix to the corner. Virus then unlaced Fenix mask and tied the mask to the corner turnbuckle. Fenix was helpless as Virus then turned to pound upon him. Ave Fenix made his decision, sacrificing his mask, he slipped out and stunned Virus with a role up for the victory and the championship. Quickly retrieving his second mask from the back, Ave Fenix then celebrated the championship with the young fans in the ring.

The main event was a best of three falls tag match. Mr. Muerte's partner was Furia Nuclear and Atrivido's partner was Fuerza Suprema. Muerte and Furia had the size advantage, but the speed and athleticism of Atrivido and Fuerza went a long way to evening the match. The first two falls were fairly evenly matched with Fuerza Suprema pinning Furia Nuclear in the first fall and Mr. Muerte submitting Fuerza Suprema in the second. The third and deciding fall exploded out of the ring and into the crowd. Muerte and Furia Nuclear seized the advantage with the outside the ring action and the victory came shortly thereafter when Mr. Muerte rolled Atrivido into the ring and rolled him up for the pin.

TWA at the Texas Wolverine All-Star Gym

Texas Wrestling Association presented an abbreviated card at the gym at 2000 S. Presa The show started as Hawaiian Newcomer Rocky Morocco was introduced to the fans. Unfortunately for Rocky, the fans' first impression of him will be of Nightmare Curtis Stone surprising Rocky with a beatdown. Nightmare promised this was only a taste of what's to come.

In the first official match, El Ilegal took on El Zombi. Ilegal pulled out all stops in an effort to beat Zombi. Zombi however was not to be put down easily and actually score a 2 falls to 1 victory. After the match Ilegal stepped up his vicious attack, using a metal sign and steel chairs to beat down Zombi. In Ilegal's mind the match was an even 2 falls to 2 falls as Zombi had to be helped to the lockerroom after the match.

The second match saw Gato Diabolico facing Muneco Nexxus. This was an evenly fought match with each men scoring a fall early. The third and final fall went to Nexxus when Gato was disqualified for pulling the mask from Nexxus.

The Main Event saw Horoscopo facing Ultraman. Although Horoscopo was the technico in the match, he was greatly distracted by the chants of "Nacho" from the crowd. Ultraman took advantage of this and scored a pin on Horoscopo. Horoscopo gained some revenge in the second fall by submitting Ultraman. In the third fall, things got a little ugly as the action spilled out to the floor and into the crowd. Horoscopo was bloodied and as the two wrestlers worked their way back into the ring, El Ilegal made his way to the ring. Ilegal attempted to throw a glass of water in the face of Horoscopo, however Horoscopo ducked and the referee took the water in the face. As the referee attempted to clear his eyes, Ilegal handed Ultraman a beer bottle. Ultraman smashed the bottle across Horoscopo's head and covered him. When the ref turned he could only count the pin and give Ultraman the victory. The unconscious Horoscopo was carried into the back. Horoscopo is a proud man and will not let this go lightly.

Adrenaline Tour Announced!

Rudy Boy Gonzalez has posted the following information on the www.indywarz.com message board concerning plans for an upcoming wrestling tour. This should mostly be of interest to wrestlers and others in the business of pro wrestling.

So you want to know what its like to run in a 'territory'?
Texas Wrestling Entertainment will be sponsoring its first TWE ADRENALIN TOUR '07.
3 dates are being booked in March. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday March 6th 7th 8th.

Where......Locations to be announced

Time........7pm

For 3 days a crew will travel the roads of Texas to learn what its like to run in the territory.

All matches will be explained with only one thing in mind. . . . to make the fans want you to come back for more. There will be 1 or 2 'agents' calling the shots. Your job will be to follow the instruction of the agents.

Opening are for only 10- 12 individuals. All shows will have 1 tag match.

Each months crew, may or may not be the same. You must commit to 3 days. Not 1, not 2, but 3. Each town or venue will be approximately 100-150 miles apart.

Indy Warz 'professor, and long time veteran Dusty Wolf has been signed on as the Adrenaline 2007 Tour road agent. Dusty's duties will include, helping set up the matches and finishes. Dusty brings over 20 years of experience form not only the local wrestling are, but from around the world as well as WWE.

This project has picked up steam pretty quickly, and towns or venues aren't even named yet. Keep in mind the first set of dates will determine the outcome of how or where the rest of the tour will end up. The the stretch goal is to make this a monthly tour, and eventually add dates to each tour. In no way am I trying to overtake another promotion, and that is why the weekday dates are set aside.

This ain't your buddy's promotion. No politics or alliances except what happens in the ring. Old school, new school or whatever school you want to call it, this is the way its done.

Talent must arrive to the venues no later than 4:30.

Talent must have wrestling gear. Air Jordans and a pair of pants from Hot Topic won't do.

Talent must at all times conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times.

Talent will be required to cover your own hotels and food. Unless otherwise noted. i e, we get someone to sponsor a restaurant for the tour.

Talent will ride 4 to a car. No wives, girlfriends, or boyfriends will be allowed on the road.

Talent will be paid after each event.

Talent will be instructed on finishes etc, etc, etc. There will be no going into business for yourself.

ACW News - Childs Accepts Challenge

American Championship Wrestling issued the following press release today:

Fresh off a great showing at IWA-MS Deathmatch weekend Darin Childs has announced that he is on a mission to right the wrongs that are causing the Texas wrestling scene to drown in obscurity. He is going to start with the Man who issued a challenge just 2 weeks ago, Dragon X. This statement was issued by Darin Childs:

"When you call yourself a professional Wrestler you're then a reflection on everyone in the business and everyone that paved the way for us to have the opportunity to live our dreams. If this kid wants to prostitute himself out in this business than I believe it is my job to end him and his career. He called out a champion and a champion has answered his challenge. Dragon X, T-Minus your life and counting; it's time for you to fall from grace".

Weekend Report

Saturday TWE Floresville
Texas Wrestling Entertainment made an appearance at the Floresville FallFest Saturday, presenting four competitive matches to the crowd. The first match got off to a frightening start however as TWE TV Champion Brett Thunder came to the ring and jumped to the second turn buckle which snapped, causing Thunder to land on the back of his head. Fortunately Brett was ok and able to continue, but his title defense against The Xtreme Bulldawg Rexx Reed was off to a scary start. Despite having to battle the match with only two rope, Reed and Thunder each made the needed adjustments to their offense and presented a very good match. The fans clearly supported Thunder, while hurling abuse at the larger Reed. When Reed pinned Thunder with the use of the ropes, referee Rick Porter initially missed it and it appeared that there was a new TV Champion, but Skitzo came to the ring and set Porter straight. When the fans confirmed that Reed had cheated, Rick Porter called for the restart to the match. While Reed argued, Thunder quickly snuck in and rolled up Reed for the victory. Despite the arguing of Reed and his partner Bigg Dogg, Porter stuck to his guns.

Before the second match, Rick Porter and Angelina quickly replaced the broke middle rope with the bottom rope. The second match was started before the crowd could lose interest. They weren't disappointed either as Bigg Dogg and Skitzo faced off. These two presented a highly physical and competitive match which ended in a manner very similarly to the first match. Bigg Dogg pinned Skitzo using the ropes. Brett Thunder came ringside and pointed out the cheating to the Ref who restarted the match. Skitzo quickly took advantage and scored the victory. Bigg Dogg and Rexx Reed argued with Porter but were only able to gain a tag match against Thunder and Skitzo later in the show.

The third match was between on-again off-again tag partners Windwalker and Cowboy James Claxton. Windwalker found himself at odds with the fans early and when Claxton was introduced as hailing from Floresville, the crowd clearly had their favorite. This was a fun match as both men showed their charisma as well as their wrestling skills. Windwalker worked on Cowboy's injured leg throughout the match and appeared to be on the verge of winning when Claxton hit the big boot and scored the victory.

The main event was the tag match between the Dog Pound - Bigg Dogg and Xtreme Bulldawg Rexx Reed and the team of Skitzo and Brett Thunder. This was an excellent match as all 4 men were able to show their skills. The Dogg Pound relied on typical rulebreaking and double team tactics, but as the action picked up, Thunder and Skitzo mounted a comeback and put the match away as Skitzo pinned Reed while Thunder and Bigg Dogg battled outside the ropes.

RCW Returns to Action!

River City Wrestling made its long awaited return to action Friday night at the Hope of Glory church as a full house of fans cheered their favorites. Ring announcer Jeff Houston welcomed the fans and then introduced RCW president Brandon Oliver who thanked the fans for their patience and loyalty during the difficult times. RCW fans are outstanding fans, almost a family and were joyful to hear the positive news concerning Brandon's and Jenni's daughter Madison Melissa.

The show got started as Team Mex - Hotstuff Hernandez, Don Juan and Chris Marval came to the ring adorned with no fewer than 10 championship belts currently held by the team. When Commissioner Yebisu, who had formerly managed The Texas Treats, Don Juan and Chris Marval as part of the International Power Station (IPS), Team Mex seemed unconcerned, knowing that the remaining members of the old IPS where no longer a part of RCW. Yebisu informed Team Mex and the crowd that a "New IPS" would be revealed tonight. At least that's what the fans thought Yebisu had said. When Yebisu left the ring, Jeff Houston re-entered and made the mistake of grabbing the microphone from Hotstuff's hands. Even those who weren't fans of Jeff Houston winced in pain at what happened next. First Hernandez informed "the best dressed man in wrestling" that he needed to strip or be stripped. After the nervous Houston stripped to his boxers, Hotstuff kicked Jeff, then lifted him over his shoulders and tossed him across the ring into the corner. Jeff landed in an ugly heap but his suffering wasn't over as the Treats proceeded to wail away on him with his own belt.

When the ring cleared it became apparent that there was a need for a new ring announcer. Ray the Voice was called into action and announced the participants in the first match. Fans were skeptical when the first wrestler introduced was "The Magician," a newcomer to RCW who entered the ring wearing a top hat and cape. When his opponent was announced, the crowd perked up. The return of Masada instantly prompted a "he's a bad-ass" chant. The match was a quick one as the Magician seemed more interested in impressing Masada with his card tricks, but eventually Masada had seen enough and got out the lighter fluid. No one gets up from the flaming fist. Masada left the Magician prone on the mat.

The second match was far more competitive as J.T. LaMotta of the Hardbodies faced Johnny Ender of the Nerdy Boys. This was a fascinating match featuring some incredible offense as these two showed how innovative they could be. At the height of the match, however, a masked man came ringside dancing like a geek. As Ender gawked in confusion, LaMotta snuck in for the pin.

In Match # 3 Sidd Murder returned to RCW to face the Bling King Quinten Allen. The last time SA saw Sidd, it was in the Tag Team hardcore match at Breaking All of the Rules 2. In this match, Sidd was able to show his in-ring skills as he faced the Bling King. Fans quickly learned to appreciate the skills of Sidd as he tossed the hated Allen around the ring. Allen did mount a come back and managed to hit his new finisher "The Questionnaire" to spoil Murder's return.

The fourth match saw Spector face Kris Kronie of the Nerdy Boys. The two wrestlers started their match in a civil manner, but as things heated up, it became apparent that neither wanted to lose this match. For the second time that night the masked geek returned to dance ringside. This time both wrestler were distracted, but it was Kronie who recovered first and scored the victory.

After the intermission Mike Dell faced Andrew Dalton of the Hardbodies for the RCW TV Title, which Dalton has renamed the "Cyber Title." Dell is probably the most popular wrestler in RCW and Dalton is perhaps the most hated so this match had built in drama. Both wrestlers showed that they have an array of wrestling moves and the crowd was really getting into the action when, for the third time, the dancing masked geek made an appearance. This time interfering with Dell and allowing Dalton to use the ropes and get the pin. After the match, Dalton was joined in the ring by his Hardbody partner J.T. LaMotta and the Masked Geek. As they celebrated the victory they removed the mask and presented the newest member of the Hardbodies Joey Spector. Dell reentered the ring and took some of his frustrations out on the Hardbody Joey Spector.

Prior to the main event, Commissioner Yebisu returned to introduce the "NEW" IPS. First from Mexico, Sicodelico Jr. From Big Japan Masada, and in the biggest surprise of the night, from Hawaii, Ikaika! The New IPS looked very impressive indeed. The three men were set to face Team Mex. This was an outstanding match. All six men are skilled competitors and it was everything referee Alex Marrozos could do to stay out of the way of the action. Team Mex gained control by focusing upon keeping Ikaika down and pounding upon his previously injured back. In the end, Sicodelico Jr. turned his back on his team mates and joined the attack on Ikaika. The result was the match being thrown out, but it set up the main event for the next RCW show. On November 18th at the Bellaire Baptist Church RCW will present a War-Games style Cage match featuring the 4 members of Team Mex facing New IPS members Masada and Ikaika and 2 unnamed partners. STPW in Shertz
Southern Thunder Pro Wrestling made its way to Shertz Texas Sunday with a card of five matches, including 2 championship matches. Jeff Houston did the announcing and Alex Marrozos handled the referee duties.

The first match was between Berry and Cobra. While Cobra's offense was more of a mat-based style, Berry was forced to make adjustments as the low ceiling interfered with his high flying moves. In the end, the adjustments were too much for the younger Berry and the Veteran Cobra scored the victory.

The second match saw Dragon X face Gabe "the Babe." Gabe is quickly making a name for himself in San Antonio. Unfortunately the name is "Cry Baby." Gabe spent most of the match avoiding the action or complaining about the tactics of Dragon X. When he did focus on the match, he showed some skills but it was the more focused Dragon X who got the victory.

The next match saw Ricky Rhodes facing former Texas Champion Johnny Rage. Rhodes had the support of the young fans in this match, but Rage was able to use stall tactics until he could gain an advantage. When he finally got the advantage, he used the ropes and gained the win.

Match Four was for the Southern Thunder Pro Wrestling Texas Championship held by Renegade. Renegade's challenger was the huge Ezekiel "the Bengal" Franks. Renegade is a large man who rarely faces bigger opposition, but the Bengal stood every bit of 6'7" and 300 pounds. On top of this, his martial arts background makes him a dangerous opponent for any man. Despite this situation, Renegade had the experience edge in the match and was not one to quit. All it takes is one clothesline from hell and anyone can go down to the Renegade. When Franks' head cleared Renegade was already celebrating the victory.

The main event was for the STPW Cruiserweight title. More than this, it was a rematch of what may be the rivalry of the year in South Texas Wrestling. Former tag partners Rudy Russo and El Latino faced off for Latino's title. These two men have battled in at least 4 different promotions in South Texas since Russo turned on Latino and the battles between them have been some of the best matches many fans have seen all year. El Latino was able to gain some more revenge on Russo by picking up the win tonight, but this rivalry looks to continue well into 2007

Calendar Correction

The calendar of upcoming events has a couple of errors which have now been corrected. Specifically the Lucha Libre promotion TWA will be running shows on November 10th and the 24th. After that, they will be running on the second and fourth Fridays of each month. MAW is also running Lucha Shows on the 10th and 24th but will go on hiatus after the end of this month.

As Commissioner Yebisu says, "don't forget!" Only a few days remain until RCW's return on Saturday, November 4, at Hope of Glory Church, 339 W. Hutchins in San Antonio. Doors open at 6:45 p.m., and the action begins at 7:30 p.m.

On a personal note, I want to thank everyone who has been supportive. I never realized what RCW meant to everyone. All of the people wearing the shirts, all of the people attending shows and having a good time.

I apologize for taking time off, and I'm thankful for the understanding. All things are possible through Christ, especially my daughter, born at 25 weeks old and weighing in at 1 pound 8 ounces. Now I'm happy to report that she is off the ventilator and tubes, in an open-air crib, and weighing in at a shade over 4 pounds. She's beautiful and the highlight of my life.

Now that my family is gaining in strength, I know it is the time to come back. RCW and myself have been both praised and criticized, but only these strong emotions show how many people care about RCW. I appreciate that.

This Saturday, we return to the spiritual confines of Hope of Glory Church. Thank you to Pastor Dot for not only opening the doors to us, but also visiting my daughter several times at the hospital.

This Saturday will be a day for the people who made things possible for RCW. You will see the return of several old faces, as well as the debut of a few new ones.

We will be adding a new look to Hope of Glory, and hopefully -- we're working hard to make these in time for Saturday -- brand new t-shirts and DVD's.

Let's take a look at who will be appearing to the show:

Team MEX, comprised of RCW Champion/TNA Tag Team Champion Hotstuff Hernandez and RCW Tag Team Champions The Texas Treats (Don Juan and Chris Marval). MY CREW. They came together as a group at Breaking All of the Rules II. Whatever chaos they cause this Saturday, there's not going to be a long line of people to stop them. "The 300-pound Tex-Mex T-Rex" is a member of TNA's Latin American Xchange, and doing very well for himself, seen nationally every week on SPIKE and a two-time TNA Tag Team Champion. For the last two TNA Pay-Per-Views, LAX has stole the show, as everywhere I read the fans are calling their matches the best on the card. As for The Treats, what more needs to be said. Watch out for these two guys. Some are calling them the best tag team in Texas, and it's hard to argue against that.

Speaking of tag teams, two RCW teams make their return -- The Nerdy Boys and The Hardbodies. The Nerdy Boys were in a recent issue of Inside Wrestling/The Wrestler magazine, now available at newsstands nation-wide. Johnny Ender and Kris Kronie are former Tag Team Champs, and were at one time the most loved tag team in RCW, but the happy-go-lucky tag team were not "going to take it anymore," and eventually displayed a whole new attitude.

The Hardbodies, comprised of RCW Television Champion "Simply Luscious" Andrew Dalton and "Juicy" J.T. Lamotta, have yet to wear tag team gold, but have fared well in singles competition, as Dalton is RCW's first and only TV Champion, and ironically, Lamotta is the #1 contender to the title. Dalton was ranked in Pro Wrestling Illustrated's Top 500 Wrestlers and was ranked #1 in the RCW rankings.

International companies will be represented as well. Making his return from Big Japan is the incomparable Masada. Masada and Hernandez tore the house down with their match from July, and his 45-minute, Two out of Three Falls Match with Fast Eddie at Breaking All of the Rules I ranks among RCW's best matches. What carnage will Masada serve up this Saturday?

Also joining RCW's roster is CMLL wrestler Sicodelico Jr. This luchadore has a deep family tradition in the business. RCW is fortunate to have a wrestler with this much background and history on its roster.

Another addition is Sydd Murder. RCW's first look at Murder was at Breaking All of the Rules II as he teamed with the maniacal NecroButcher.

Hut-hut-hike. The high school football star "One Man" Mike Dell will also return. Dell was so close to winning the RCW Championship, but we all know what happened. Coming close to winning doesn't mean a thing. I'm sure Dell has something up his sleeve, though.

The controversial Joey Spector will also be on hand. Since joining RCW, Spector went from "The Upset Kid" to the "80's Sensation" and now has a darker edge.

You know what? You know what? It's the "Bling King" Quinten Allen, baby, and he's coming back as well. RCW's first and only reigning king.

Commissioner Yebisu will also be on hand. At one time, Yebisu managed the most powerful faction in RCW, The International Power Station, comprised of Fast Eddie, The Texas Treats, and Spiro. Now the group has been destroyed. They could never take the championship away from Hernandez. Then, the Texas Treats joined Hernandez to form Team MEX, and now the IPS is basically just a chapter in RCW's history. The Great Kazushi Miyamoto took Spiro's spot, but is unable to compete due to his international commitments. The loss of the IPS will not sit well with the commish.

Also coming back is RCW's ring announcer Jeff Houston, commentator Ray The Voice, and RCW's ref, "Mr. Saturday Night," Alex Marrozos.

As I said, this will be a great night for RCW on many levels. I hope everyone has a great time and enjoys what RCW brings to the table.

October End of Month Report

October was another dificult month for many local wrestling fans. TWE ran no local show of their own, but were a presence at the ACW shows. RCW has gone without a show for almost 3 months. On the bright side, ACW continued to present exciting shows which have featured the TWE invasion angle. PWI has continued to improve the quality of their monthly shows. SWCW and ACT ran local shows. The best news are the announcement for the months to come. RCW has 3 shows announce before the end of the year. TWE is building to their super show STAR WARZ on December 3rd and has announced 4 big dates in 2007. ACW has shows announced as well. PWI and STPW are running shows in the area in November as well. There seems to be a growing attitude of cooperation concerning the use of talent among the promotions. The Lucha shows have continued to grow in popularity as well. Local fans can be excited about the next two months.

Late Weekend Report

MAW Friday Night
Mexican American Wrestling returned to Sociedad Cruz Blanca Friday night with a show of 5 matches. The show started off with a match featuring Gabe the Babe facing Berry. "The Kid" was the referee for this match and did a good job for his first match. As Gabe began the match, the crowd quickly recognized that he was more a "cry baby" than a "babe" and didn't let him forget it the entire match. Berry did his best to remain focused and ignore Gabe's histrionics. As the two finally got into the match, Gabe was quick to recognize Berry's single minded attitude and was forced to resort to rulebreaking. In the end, however, Berry was able to hit his finisher "The Crunch-Berry" and score the pin.

In the second match, Gato Diabolico faced Vikingo. Mano Negro was the referee. These wrestlers faced each other with caution, recognizing the skill and experience of the other. The two went back and forth until Gato was able to lock in a submission hold and gain the victory.

The third match was supposed to be Diablo challenging for El Zombi's Cruiserweight title, but Zombi was unable to make the show, so Diablo was stuck without an opponent. At this point MAW Heavyweight Champion Virus came out and boldly stepped into the ring for an impromptu title match against the game Diablo. Although Diablo showed heart, he was clearly not prepared for this challenge and made one mistake which allowed Virus to gain the submission victory.

The next match was a tag match featuring four of the best luchadores working in San Antonio. These wrestlers didn't disappoint either The technicos Ave Fenix and Atrevido faced the Rudo team of Lemus II and Virus. Although Virus doesn't specialize in the Lucha Libre style, he did a good job of keeping up with the others, but would you expect less from the champion? The crowd seemed determined to turn the rudos against one another, but despite their differences, Lemus and Virus would have none of this. The distraction however may have come into effect as Ave Fenix was able to submit Virus for the first fall. The Rudos evened the score in the second fall as Lemus forced Atrevido to submit. In the final fall, Virus was embarrassed as Ave Fenix managed to submit him for the second time in one night. Despite this, Virus insisted that this didn't qualify Ave Fenix for a title match.

The main event was a Hair vs. Hair match between Mr. Muerte and Chief Battu. Muerte was accompanied to the ring by Lemus II and Battu was with Ave Fenix. The referee was Juan Diego. This was an impressive match as neither men wanted to lose their hair. Juan Diego seemed to favor Muerte in this match so things did not look good for Battu. Even so, Battu did manage to jump out to an early lead by pinning Muerte early. In the second fall, Muerte evened the score with a submission victory. In the third fall things went crazy as the two fought out of the ring and into the crowd. When Battu pulled a table from under the table and positioned the stunned Muerte, the crowd was amazed as Battu actually climbed to the top of the ring post and dropped a devastating elbow on the masked man. Muerte never fully recovered from that and was pinned shortly afterwards, meaning Muerte was going to get a hair cut. Referee Juan Diego offered to take the hair cut for his friend. In the end, both men got their heads shaved.

Mexican American Wrestling is planning 2 more shows this season at the Sociedad Cruz Blanca location. The last show will be the Friday following Thanksgiving and should be a major event.

PWI at Mission Massacre II Saturday

Pro Wrestling International Entertainment joined several bands to participate in a block party outside Bruno's Sports Bar on Mission Road Saturday night. Despite the cool temperatures and the crowd unfamiliar with local wrestling, the wrestlers put on a good show from top to bottom. J.D. Kingston handled the announcing duties and Terry Sleeze handled the referee duties.

In the first match, Ricky Rhodes was accompanied by fellow 210 Mob members Ozzy Manson and Blaine Steel. Rhodes opponent was Gabe the Babe. Although Rhodes and the 210 Mob resorted to rulebreaking tactics early, Gabe the Babe clearly alienated the crowd early with his antics. The crowd actually cheered for Rhodes when he scored the victory with a sit out power bomb.

The fans support for Rhodes didn't last long. In the second match, Rhodes accompanied 210 mob member JJ Wakefield to the ring and the crowd and Rhodes exchanged a few choice words. Wakefield was facing Berry and Bobby Garrett in a 3 way match. For most of the match, Berry and Wakefield teamed up to attack Garrett in a face paced match. The alliance however would break down whenever either was close to a pin. When Wakefield turned on Berry and hit his finisher, it was Garrett however who snuck in for the pin, surprising Wakefield, Rhodes and the fans.

The third match was a rematch for the Tag Titles between challengers The Houligans Crazy Jimmy and Bull Harley and the Champions the 210 Mob Blaine Steele and Ozzy Manson. Both Teams are experienced rule breakers but the Houligans gained the crowd support early. Referee Terry Sleeze had his hands full as both teams took advantage of double teams and other rule breaking tactics. It seems only reasonable that the match ended in a disqualification when Sleeze caught JJ Wakefield in the ring attempting to help his 210 Mob teammates. The Houligans won the match, but of course the titles could not change hands. The Houligans seemed determined that there will be another night.

The 4th match was a US Championship match between challenger Bio-Hazard and Champion Papa Gallo. This was a fascinating match as both wrestlers showed incredible mat skills. Moves and counters were exchanged and neither man let up for the entire match. The end came when Papa Gallo locked in a Texas Clover Leaf submission while dragging Bio-Hazard away from the ropes.

The main event was for the International Championship currently held by Mojo. The challenger for this match was The Great Ryu. Mojo was clearly the biggest fan favorite of the night as Brazilian flags were in abundance ringside. These two men have a long rivalry and know each other's moves well, so it is no surprise that the wrestling in the match quickly escalated into a brawl, spilling out of the ring. Ref Terry Sleeze showed leniency, allowing the fight to continue even when a large chainlink fence segment was pulled from under the ring and used as a weapon. Eventually, it was Mojo who prevailed in this test of wills, but Ryu seems on the brink of taking this title.

PWI will return to SPLACH Sports Bar at 905 Nogalitos on Saturday November 18th.

LLM Sunday Night at Colt 45
The San Antonio Independent Wrestling Scene finally made it out to Colt 45 south of town at Applewhite and HWY 16 for one of their Sunday night Lucha Libre shows. Lucha Libre Mexicano runs shows every Sunday at this location just south of Loop 410. Tonight's show featured 4 matches all refereed by Juan Diego. The cool temperatures and the early darkness due to the end or day lights savings time contributed to a smaller crowd than usual, but everyone in attendance had a great time hurling abuse at the Rudos and cheering the technicos.

The first match featured two newcomers. Technico Vago de Texas faced Rudo Mystery Man. This match was typical of a local Lucha show opening match as the two luchadores were anxious to show the crowd their best. Vago took the first fall, and Mystery Man took the 2nd and 3rd falls.

The next match was a tag match featuring the Technicos Ave Fenix and Semental against the Rudos Muneco Nexxus and Furia del Sur. In the first fall, the incredibly popular Semental pinned Muneco Nexxus. During the second match, the action fell out of the ring and Furia appeared to be injured as he left to the lockerroom, leaving Nexxus to fight alone. Nexxus did not have to face his opponents alone for long as Mystery Man returned to the ring and took his place as the partner of Nexxus.Muneco Nexxus responded to this by pinning Ave Fenix. In the third fall, Ave Fenix was able to submit Mystery Man. After the match, the Technicos attacked Referee Juan Diego who is well known for favoring the Rudos.

The 3rd match was an incredibly enjoyable match which incorporated much of the best of Lucha. Technicos Ultraman and Nacho Libre faced Rudos Lemus II and Crazy. The fans clearly had fun and the luchadores also showed that they were enjoying themselves. The first fall went to the Technicos when Nacho Libre submitted Lemus. The 2nd fall went to the Rudos as Crazy submitted Ultraman. The third fall went to the Technicos as Ultraman pinned Lemus at the exact moment that Lemus succeeded in removing the mask of Nacho Libre. Nacho did a good job of keeping his face covered so fans will never know if it was Jack Black or not.

The Final match was a todos match, where all the Luchadores fought battle royal style. The wrestlers were eliminated in this order: Nacho Libre, Ultra Man, Crazy, Furia del Sur, Mystery Man, Semental, Ave Fenix. This left Lemus II and Vago de Texas. In a surprising finish, Vago removed his own mask, and threw it to Lemus. As Vago rolled on the mat, covering his face with his hands, Referee Juan Diego saw Lemus with the mask and disqualified him, giving Vago the win.

Dragon X Speaks out on his Status in ACW

The office of American Championship Wrestling just received the following letter from Dragon X:

I am fed up with the lack of care in which ACW handles my career. I have been working for ACW for years and no one seems to care, ACW doesn't put me in a position to succeed. I have done what no one else can do, I have pinned Jacob Ladder and I should have been the ACW Heavyweight champion, but due to the lack of respect the Office shows me I was screwed, and the situation went unresolved. Now they let a retired AAA Star run out of the crowd and attack me and of course no action will be taken. I am tired of this, I want a match on November 19th that means something; I want to face a champion. I don't care if it is Texas Heavyweight champion Brett Thunder or One Man Mike Dell; I am not going to be disrespected anymore.

THE ACW & TWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS CHILDREN OF PAIN COMPRISED OF DARIN CHILDS AND JACOB LADDER ARE SET TO RETURN TO THE INFAMOUS IWA MID-SOUTH TO COMPETE IN THE DDT: DOUBLE DEATH TOURNAMENT IN PLAINFIELD, IN ON NOVEMBER 4th, 2006. THIS TOURNAMENT IS TRULY PACKED WITH THE BEST DEATHMATCH WRESTLERS IN THE COUNTRY AND BEYOND.

Here you go, all 8 Double Death tag team participants have been announced. They are:
