New shows announced for River City Wrestling
Next show is April 22; two shows in May

River City Wrestling, San Antonio's professional wrestling organization, has announced three new live events. The schedule is as follows:

Saturday, April 22

Arts of the Scholar Warrior Gym
1126 W. Hildebrand

The next live event is Saturday, April 22, at Arts of the Scholar Warrior Gym, 1126 W. Hildebrand. The doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 in advance or at the door, and can be purchased online at http://www.rcw-wrestling.com/, or at Arts of the Scholar Warrior Gym (please call ahead at 210-842-8398. There will be limited seating, so be sure to buy your tickets in advance or get there early!

This event is where RCW invites fans to "step into our world." This is where the RCW wrestlers train, as well as boxers and martial artists. Proceeds for this event go to support these training programs, which help kids stay off the street and enroll into boxing and martial arts programs.

Make no mistake about it -- this show won't be as "comfortable" as the friendly-confines of the YWCA or Hope of Glory Church. It will be gritty, the temperature will be hot, and fans will get an idea of what the fighters endure daily in their training. It's an opportunity for the fans to "step into our world," and see what daily life is like for RCW and the fighters of Arts of the Scholar Warrior Gym.

On the card will be:

Battle for the #1 Contendership
Johnny Ender of the Nerdy Boys, 1/2 of RCW's Tag Team Champions, puts his #1 Contender status on the line against Fast Eddie Vegas of the Texas Treats

Commissioner Yebisu was upset that RCW promoter Brandon Oliver made an impromptu Battle Royal for the #1 contender spot at the April 1 event. During that Battle Royal, Ender scored the upset and won the right to face RCW Champion Hotstuff Hernandez on May 7 at Tiffany's Billiards.

Fast Eddie, meanwhile, took the newest TNA star and LAX member to the limit, but ultimately, the 300-pound Tex-Mex T-Rex Hernandez was able to successfully defend his title. Vegas wants another shot -- which would be his third attempt -- and Yebisu happily obliged, ordering this match and forcing Ender to put his #1 contender status on the line.

Ikaika in a special challenge match

Apparently, The Texas Treats are not finished with "The Smashing Machine," and have convinced Yebisu to sign Ikaika for a special challenge match that will be revealed on April 22.
